Hi everyone! It's nice to have you here in my humble site.  Welcome to Joomla! Aklan.  The site is intended to all browsers, in the world wide web especially to my fellow Aklanons, who wanted to have knowledge about websites and their components.  Would you believe that a simple person like me with basic knowledge in MS Word for typing text, as well as in MS Powerpoint for photo editing (ridiculous, isn't it?!?), would gain knowledge in building his own site?

If you're thinking that a fine knowledge in MSWord and MSPowerPoint plus a mind of improvising things using exisitng resources would be enough to start learning Joomla?  The answer is YES!  The eagerness to learn certain things makes a lot of difference.

It all started some time in year 2004 wherein I attended a basic training on how to install Joomla! original template locally, and how to explore the usage of its front-end and back-end and on how to create Sections, Categories and most especially the Artices.

Then updating the Joomla! CMS using our relative knowledge in MSFrontPage (almost similar in operational function as MSWord) that after typing the contents for the article, we were advised to copy the codes and paste them in the html link of a particular article in Joomla! back-end and wala! your content is loaded.

But there is more to know about Joomla! And every now and then, developers keeps on doing programs to debug the CMS of its problem.  So far so good. From version 1.0.0, Joomla! evolved into its present 1.5.12 version and still progressing.  That's how blessed programmers share their knowledge in one way or another.  And it's for us to make our move to explore this remarkable Joomla! CMS.  Besides, it's free.  And not only that. Components, Modules, Plugins and templates are developed by Joomla! developers to provide support for the better usage of Joomla! Although some are commercially for sale, still there are other cool stuffs that we can download and use for free.  And if you are finding it hard to look for related links, you may click SEARCH and by merely entering the keyword JOOMLA!, you will find a lot of data available at Google and Yahoo!

Everyday is a learning process.  So let's explore. Let's never stop searching for things to learn for the betterment of our life.  At Joomla Aklan, Open Source Really Matters...

Hi there! I am really looking forward for aklanons to learn how to make webpages using Joomla. and I do hope many aklanons would join this cause. And also that in the long run the Aklanons would not just learn Joomla but all the important factors and benefits of the new learning would bring.
