Being resourceful as I could try to be, I have always searched the web for information on how to explore Joomla!  As you can see at the left column of this site, I have installed a Search Component for my browsers to search Google about all the information they need.  I have also placed the downloadable links for JOOMLA, XAMPP and FILEZILLA- Softwares that could help you in starting your first site.

In a simple understanding, there are 3 major components needed for an individual website to appear online: (1) Hosting Server; (2) Domain Name; and (3) the website itself (in our case - Joomla!).  Joomla Aklan! recommends you to start exploring to build your own website on your personal computer and to work locally off the internet.  But first you must download the 3 softwares (Joomla, Xampp and Filezilla) in order for you to start working locally. Here's a simple lay-man instructions for preparing a website LOCALLY in your Windows Operating System.

Hi everyone! It's nice to have you here in my humble site.  Welcome to Joomla! Aklan.  The site is intended to all browsers, in the world wide web especially to my fellow Aklanons, who wanted to have knowledge about websites and their components.  Would you believe that a simple person like me with basic knowledge in MS Word for typing text, as well as in MS Powerpoint for photo editing (ridiculous, isn't it?!?), would gain knowledge in building his own site?

If you're thinking that a fine knowledge in MSWord and MSPowerPoint plus a mind of improvising things using exisitng resources would be enough to start learning Joomla?  The answer is YES!  The eagerness to learn certain things makes a lot of difference.
